Unfortunately, it is really cold here in Kent, we didn’t realise how cold it was going to get, especially compared with Austria. The cold really plays havoc with your voice, my voice just kind of retreated because it was so cold last night.

The layout of the venue here is quite different compared to somewhere like the Globe, which becomes this sort of cauldron for sound, it’s amplified. Here though, we are just in this open space so sound can dissipate, but everyone still seems to be really engaged so that’s really great.

I think some of the beautiful language in the play, lines which talk about nature and things like that, are quite striking here. I think that’s because we are outside and in these amazing grounds so those parts are really quite powerful.

We have two more shows left in Kent and then we go to Salisbury which is another outdoor space like this one. I’m really enjoying it and I think the touring process is great. I am absolutely knackered though and as we just did our 26th performance last night there is still a long way to go yet!
