Written by: Wiliam Shakespeare
Jamie Parker is playing Henry V, following on from his role as Prince Hal in the 2010 productions of Henry IV Parts 1 & 2. This production begins it's UK tour in Liverpool before playing at the Globe as the English language contribution for the Globe to Globe festival.
"If there's one play written in the English Language which makes the audience the star of the show, it's this!" Jamie talks about performing on tour and at the Globe, and the importance of the audience in the success of the play.
"I kind of miss all that mucking around in the pub", says Jamie, reflecting on his role of Prince Hal in Henry IV. He also discusses how they are finding humour in Henry V and the importance of audience interaction.
"This is a major exercise in not sounding like Kenneth Branagh!" Says Jamie in this second interview. He talks about wanting to make Henry his own and his apprehension of performing the King's two big speeches.
"I’d quite like to be him", says Jamie Parker about playing the role of Henry V. In this pre-rehearsal interview Jamie talks about his initial reactions to Henry V and playing the King in this season’s production.
