Shakespeare's Globe Book Award
The Shakespeare's Globe Book Award is to be given to the author of a first monograph, published in 2010 or 2011, which has made an important contribution to the understanding of Shakespeare, his theatre, or his contemporaries.
The Prize
The winning author will receive a £3,000 cash prize, as well as a workshop on presentation skills in preparation for delivering a public lecture at Shakespeare's Globe, the 2012 Cheltenham Literary Festival and the Shakespeare Institute. Travel and accommodation costs will be covered.
The Panel
Chair: Dr Farah Karim-Cooper (Head of Courses and Research at Shakespeare's Globe).
Professors: Laurie Maguire (University of Oxford), Ann Thompson (King's College London), Michael Dobson (Director of the Shakespeare Institute, University of Birmingham), and Graham Holderness (University of Hertfordshire).
