These are the Youths that Thunder at the Playhouse

Tuesday 20 August

This series of talks celebrates and introduces audiences to the research of new scholars.

Dr Gwilym Jones (Queen Mary’s, University of London) will consider the use of storms and thunder as a dramatic device in Shakespeare’s plays and the impact they had on their first audiences.

Dr Derek Dunne (Teaching Associate, Globe Education) discusses Hamlet in the context of Early Modern revenge tragedy and argues that despite Hamlet’s philosophical complexity, the play actually has less to say about law and politics than other revenge tragedies of the period.
