Are you interested in drama?
Do you want to make great new friends from across Southwark?
Do you want to work with professional actors and directors and gain an insight into theatre production at Shakespeare’s Globe?
If the answer is "YES!" to any of these questions and you are aged between 10 and 18 years, the Globe Education Southwark Youth Theatres are just the place for you!
Globe Education has three Southwark Youth Theatres resident at Shakespeare’s Globe, offering young people who live and/or learn in Southwark the space, security and opportunity to make new friends, discover and have fun!
Taking inspiration from Shakespeare’s stories and the Southwark Community, Globe Education Practitioners work with young people to develop their self-esteem, teamwork and performance skills. Through practical workshop sessions (including time in the Globe Theatre), members of the youth theatres deepen their understanding of themselves, each other and the wider Southwark Community.
Most importantly, youth theatre is about its participants. Members are empowered to take ownership of their groups. Each youth theatre has an elected focus group representative who meets termly with the Southwark Community Projects Manager, to develop and decide what the groups will do next!
