Shakespeare’s Globe is home to a thriving community of scholars. We conduct research into theatre practice and the performance culture of early modern England. In our Library you’ll find a wide range of resources on all aspects of Shakespearean drama for undergraduate, post-graduate and doctoral students. The Archive is a record of the life of Shakespeare’s Globe from the earliest days of the organisation, and includes a unique performance archive on DVD of every major Globe and Sam Wanamaker Playhouse production since 1996.

Our Research and Library facilities are based on site where we chart the developing stage practice in both the Globe theatre and the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse. We provide reference and research support for theatre professionals at the Globe, and for users worldwide.
