This summer, we’re celebrating independence!

Our Festival of Independence celebrates it, revels in it, honours those who have fought for it and those who continue to do so across the world today. As we mark 70 years since Indian independence, our festival of theatre, music, poetry, comedy and dance shines a light on the fight for personal, political and artistic freedom.

Curated by award-winning playwright Tanika Gupta, the Festival of Independence brings you a glorious range of events that rejoice in the diverse and dynamic world we live in.

‘All my life and my strength were given to the first cause of the world – the liberation of mankind.’

Jawaharlal Nehru, First Prime Minister of independent India
as quoted in Lions and Tigers by Tanika Gupta
