Shakespeare 450

Shakespeare’s Globe is celebrating the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare's birth throughout 2014 with special events at home in Bankside and a touring production of Hamlet visiting every country in the world.

Our Hamlet cast will travel across the seven continents, performing in a huge range of unique and atmospheric venues – while we celebrate in Bankside, the neighbourhood where Shakespeare wrote the majority of his greatest works.

Globe Education has events and activities for everyone, with performances by and for young people, lectures by world class scholars, staged readings of plays by Shakespeare and his contemporaries, and a host of family events.

The Exhibition & Tour will also be open for those visiting bankside. Open daily, our guides offer a fascinating tour of the Shakespeare's iconic Globe, while the engaging and informative Exhibition explores Shakespeare the man, his theatre, and his London.
