Donate tax efficiently through CAF America
If you would like to make one-off or regular tax effective donations to Shakespeare's Globe you can do so through CAF America. We receive full tax exemption from the IRS under section 501 © (3) and we are registered as an approved charity with CAF America.

You can donate online at CAF America Online and specify Shakespeare’s Globe to be the beneficiary of your donation.

Donating to Shakespeare's Globe if you are a US and UK Taxpayer
If you are a US citizen but work in the UK you may find that US income tax rules cancel out UK tax breaks on your charitable donations.

You can make a donation to us tax efficiently by going through the CAFAmerican Donor Fund and claim a double benefit - a tax deduction for the full value of the gift in the US plus the tax benefit under the Gift Aid legislation operating in the UK.

The CAF American Donor Fund is a UK charitable company registered with the Charity Commission in England and Wales, and fully owned by CAFAmerica.

Payroll Giving
How does payroll giving work?

Your donation comes out of your salary before tax. For example, a gift of £10 will only cost a standard rate tax payer £8.

How can I start payroll giving?
Setting up Payroll giving is simple:

1) Find out if your employer is registered with a Payroll Giving Agency. These agencies deal with distributing charitable donations. If they are not put them in touch with an approved agency and ask them to register.
2) Download a mandate form. Complete this and give it to your employer.

3) Then all your employer needs to do is take your donation out of your salary as a pre-tax deduction and send it to the Payroll Giving Agency with your mandate once a month. This is not complicated; most payroll systems are set up to do this.

Gift Aid
Are you a UK taxpayer?

Using Gift Aid means that for every pound you give, we currently get an extra 25 pence from the Inland Revenue, helping your donation go further.

This means that £100 can be turned into £125, just as long as donations are made through Gift Aid. Imagine what a difference that could make and it doesn't cost you a thing.

All donations, large or small, one-off or regular, are now eligible for Gift Aid when accompanied by a simple Gift Aid declaration. If you are planning to visit the Globe, please consider to make a donation equivalent to the admission price you pay for the Exhibition and Theatre Tour. In exchange, you will get one year of Unlimited Admission to the Exhibition and Theatre Tour, valid from the date of your first visit. If you are a UK taxpayer you can fill in a Gift Aid Declaration and hand it over to the staff member at the cash desk before making this donation. This way, The Globe can claim Gift Aid tax relief on your donation which will allow us to receive an additional 25p on every pound you give. This way, you increase the value of your visit to Shakespeare’s Globe, without extra costs for you!
Ask for a gift aid declaration form at the cash desk of the Exhibition on the day of your visit.

To qualify for Gift Aid, you must be a UK taxpayer and have paid an amount of Income Tax and or Capital Gains Tax at least equal to the tax that The Shakespeare Globe Trust reclaims on your donations in the Tax Year.
