PLAY YOUR PART. DONATE NOW

We are building a new indoor theatre here at Shakespeare’s Globe.

To be named the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, after the Globe’s visionary founder, this will be an exquisite candlelit venue in which Shakespeare would have felt at home.

The Sam Wanamaker Playhouse will be a new space bringing us new audiences and new plays reinforcing the Globe’s mission to educate and entertain.

The theatre will seat 350 and promises to create an atmosphere as lively and social as the Globe but also with a much greater intimacy and intensity.

A generous donor has pledged to match pound for pound any gift made, therefore effectively doubling your donation. £6.5 million has already been raised against our £7.5 million target.

We now turn to you, our devoted audience and ask you to contribute towards the last £1 million.
