Shakespeare & Censorship

‘The rest is silence.’ Hamlet, Act V, Scene 2

Censorship of British theatre officially ended on 26 September 1968. The next day, the musical Hair, with its nude hippies and profanity, opened in the West End. Featuring panel discussions and actor illustrated talks, this bold series of events explores censorship from historical, national and international viewpoints, and explores what the future holds.
