Arrival at the Globe

Entry to the main foyer is through heavy glass, double doors. A wheelchair-accessible automatic door on the left is operated by buttons placed inside and outside. It opens outwards. 

The Information Desk is directly in front of the main entrance doors. The right hand side of the counter is lowered for patrons using wheelchairs and is 750mm high. Two public payphones situated to the left of the foyer are at a height accessible to patrons in wheelchairs.

Access into the Theatre

A lift located to the right of the Box Office holds six people or one person in a wheelchair and attendant. The door is 810 mm wide. It gives access to: the theatre; gift shop and coffee cart on the piazza level (marked P); bar (P); restaurant (1); hospitality areas; such as the Founders’ Foyer (1); and Balcony Room (2). To the left of the Information Desk is a curving staircase with 17 steps up to: theatre, shop, coffee cart, piazza and bar areas (P). There is a handrail on both sides. Glass doors open onto the piazza which surrounds the theatre.

Wheelchair Accessible Toilets
Piazza level (P): Two accessible toilets to the left, one immediately after the shop and one at the end of the corridor, beyond the gentleman’s toilets (approximately 5 metres). One accessible toilet on the west side of the piazza next to the first aid room.

First Aid Rooms
There are two First Aid Rooms, one located near the Theatre and one in the Exhibition. Both are accessible via lift. If you will need access to a first aid room on your visit, please inform the Duty House Manager on arrival.

Entering the Theatre
The theatre is entered and exited through large wooden doors, staffed at all times.
