All gallery seats are held up by pillars. The authentic shape of the galleries and auditorium means that some seats are at an acute angle to the stage, which is reflected in the pricing structure. As part of recreating seventeenth-century performance conditions there is no seat from which the action may not be obscured at some point. Standing positions offer a restricted view due to the position and candlebra and are completely obscured if under 4ft due to balustrade.

Seating on all levels consists of cushioned wooden benches, some of which do not have backs. Upper gallery standing tickets are fixed positions.

Latecomers are permitted but please be mindful and respectful of the performers and other audience members. Please note that you may not be able to access your seat until a suitable break in the performance. Patrons leaving the auditorium during a performance will be asked to wait until a suitable break, should there be one remaining, before re-entering.

Children under the age of 6 cannot be admitted into the auditorium.

Food and Drink

Drinks may be taken into the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse however glasses and glass bottles are not permitted in the auditorium. Food must not be taken into the auditorium.

Under 18s £3 off all seats.
