Shakespeare works when Shakespeare plays

An international conference for teachers at Shakespeare’s Globe.

In collaboration with UC Davis and Shakespeare Theatre Association, we will be hosting a dynamic international conference for teachers focusing on the challenges of teaching Shakespeare in the classroom.

The conference is applicable to all English Literature, Drama and Theatre Studies curricula. You'll have the opportunity to engage in a rich and varied four day programme of practical workshops and talks by leading international Shakespeare scholars, actors and teaching experts.

The conference will include:

- Keynote lectures from world experts on Shakespeare, including Professor David Crystal OBE (writer, broadcaster and academic in the field of Language and Linguistics)

An exploration of the Globe Theatre and the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse

- Tickets to performances of Macbeth and A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Globe, with a pre-show talk on directing Macbeth by Iqbal Khan and Bill Buckhurst.

- Workshops with leading theatre practitioners

This conference took place in July 2016.
