Visiting the Library & Archive
The Library & Archive is open:
Wednesdays and Thursdays
10am to 5pm (closed 1.00pm-2.00pm)
Access to the Library and Archives is by appointment only.
Appointments and enquiries can be made by emailing [email protected]. Unfortunately we cannot take bookings or enquiries over the phone.
On your first visit, we require all users to complete an application form and provide proof of identification. Please bring two forms of ID with you; one must be a photo ID (a driving licence, student card, passport, bank card are all acceptable). If you are a student please bring your student card with you.
In order to help us prepare for your visit, please contact us by e-mail or letter at least a week in advance of any planned visit, providing details of your research interests and any special requirements. When making your booking, please state if you have any access requirements of which we should be aware. We will make every effort to ensure that access to our archive materials is equal to all. As archive materials cannot be adjusted, efforts will be made with assistive technology and communication support to make materials as accessible as possible. Although the Library & Archive is accessible via a lift, please be aware that regrettably there is currently no step-free access, and a small step must be navigated in order to reach the Library & Archive.
All readers will be expected to abide by our rules and regulations. Information about our reprographics policy can be found here. You are welcome to bring laptops/tablets with you; there are power sockets and wi-fi is available.
Please note facilities are extremely limited and access is therefore strictly by appointment. If you find you are unable to attend or need to rearrange please contact us as soon as possible so that we can offer your appointment to someone else.
We endeavour to answer all emails as soon as possible within the Library & Archive opening hours.
