hakespeare’s Globe is currently seeking Globe Education Practitioners.

 

Globe Education Practitioners (GEPs) deliver Shakespeare’s Globe’s extensive Education programme. Working with thousands of school age students, teachers, informal learning and community groups every year, they champion Shakespeare for all. They are highly skilled and creative facilitators, empowering students to overcome obstacles to accessing Shakespeare. This role is a freelance position.

Our GEPs are highly skilled actors, directors, storytellers, drama teachers and theatre makers, all with diverse portfolios of work experience, and bring with them a wealth of skillsets. An ideal candidate for joining this pool will have 3+ years experience in their relevant field.

What links them all is a strong passion for working with school age children and diverse groups of learners and having relevant practical experience creating and delivering theatre-based workshops in an education setting. Enthusiasm, a genuine willingness to learn and being open to feedback enable our GEPs to really get the most out of the comprehensive in-house learning and development offered by Shakespeare’s Globe Education programme.

Working as part of a dynamic team of freelancers, our GEPs share a commitment to active learning and engaging students in a positive, welcoming, and highly inclusive learning experience outside of the classroom.  All our work is about unlocking Shakespeare’s language, themes, characters, and stories in an active and creative way. GEPs typically come to us with a good working knowledge of at least 2-3 Shakespeare plays, enabling them to be flexible and adapt the workshops to meet the diverse learning requirements of all the students we cater for.

We celebrate Shakespeare’s transformative impact on the world by conducting a radical theatrical experiment. Inspired and informed by the unique historic playing conditions of two beautiful iconic theatres, our diverse programme of work harnesses the power of performance, cultivates intellectual curiosity, and excites learning to make Shakespeare accessible for all.

Salary:
As a freelance position, the salary for work delivered will vary depending on size and nature of the project. For example, a Lively Action session (90 minutes delivery, on-site) is paid at £80.
