Our  Acting Courses are perfect for actors looking to spend an extended time immersed in Globe practice . Choose from courses on concurrent days or ones spread over a series of weeks.

Playing the Globe: Six Week Course

This course runs every Wednesday evening from 6.00pm – 9.00pm from 12 February to 18 March.

Participants will look at how Shakespeare’s language works, with an examination of the sonnets, solo speeches, soliloquies and scenes. We will investigate the key points of prose, verse and how Shakespeare builds character through language.

Attention will be given to unlocking the scaffolding within the text, which facilitates storytelling in the unique architecture of Shakespeare’s Globe.

There is no preparation required in advance. Some sessions will take place on the Globe stage.

Playing the Globe: Four Day Course

This course runs on four concurrent evenings from 6.00pm – 9.00pm from Tuesday 10 March to Friday 13 March.

This course offers a chance to explore Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar on the stage it was written for. We will work together on scenes and speeches with rehearsal tools, games and exercises to explore the potential of The Globe as a performance space and what it teaches the actor about Shakespeare’s text.

Before the course, participants will need to read Julius Caesar and be especially familiar with Act IV, scene 2. Some sessions will take place on the Globe stage.
