Voice Studio

This event has now passed.

Speak the speech I pray you as I pronounced it to you, trippingly on the tongue.

– Hamlet, Act 3 Scene 2

Our voice training for professional actors draws on the fundamental principles of performance in the Globe Theatre. Taught by Globe faculty who have experience working in our playhouses, our courses support actors to make appropriate vocal choices; revealing character and meaning when working with Shakespeare’s texts.

To be heard, understood and believed in the Globe, actors communicate with connection and specificity. Our courses include practical exercises to enhance an actors toolbox, to support authentic storytelling in any space.

This is a Stage Two Studio class. This means that the session will be taught on the assumption that all participants have some knowledge of performance in the Globe Theatre. If you have not had previous experience of working or training with the Globe (onsite or online), we recommend that you take part in a Stage One class before booking onto this class.

There will be a maximum of 12 participants in this intensive two hour online class. It will be led by a member of our Globe voice faculty, who has extensive experience of training actors working in the Globe theatre. You will be working practically in this session.

Your ticket is valid for one individual to join the online workshop on one device.

You cannot book this workshop unless you have registered with The Studio at Shakespeare’s Globe and the ticket must be booked by the individual who will be participating in the workshop.

You will be sent a pre-visit email one week before the event with details of the texts to be familiar with (they do not need to be memorised). If you have booked within a week of the event, this email will be sent the day after your booking.
