Charge up your understanding of Romeo and Juliet with the help of a Globe practitioner in this twohour workshop. 

Suitable for students studying GCSE English Literature, this lively and practical workshop is designed to develop analysis and deepen written responses for Romeo and Juliet. 

The workshop will focus on providing you with fresh ideas and strategies to answer on Shakespeare’s use of structure and form to create meanings (Assessment Objective 2) and how historical context shapes the meaning of Romeo and Juliet (Assessment Objective 3). Both these Assessment Objectives cover approximately 55% of the overall grade for the Shakespeare component of GCSE English Literature.  

The scenes from Romeo and Juliet used in this session are:                

Act 1, Scene 4: The Lovers meet 

Act 3, Scene 1: Tybalt’s death

HOW TO ATTEND

A ticket covers one participant joining via one device. These online events are designed for young people aged 15 to 16 years or anyone studying for GCSE English Literature and will be attended by up to 50 participants on the same video meeting. Please ensure you join the meetings five minutes in advance of the start time.

A link with joining instructions will be emailed to you a day before the event. You will need access to a reliable internet connection and be able to join a Zoom meeting.

Participants are invited to tell us about any access requirements during the booking process; this will enable us to be aware of needs in order to make reasonable adjustments and/or adapt content where possible.

Participants may be invited to engage directly by responding to questions on screen by the practitioner.

This course is designed with no parent/guardian involvement required, but an adult must be available within the household for the full running time of the session for participants under 18 years old.

Please be aware that no recording or photography will be permitted.

Our staff retain the right to terminate any participant’s connection to the Zoom meeting if an adult is not available in the household or if our Ticketing terms and Community guidelines are not followed.
