Study Session Macbeth (Ages 15+) 2020
This event has now passed.
By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes.
This dynamic three-hour course gives students aged 15+ the chance to delve into Macbeth to analyse Shakespeare’s use of language and stagecraft.
From its mesmerising first moments to the final fulfilment of the witches’ prophecy, Macbeth is one of Shakespeare’s darkest and most powerful tragedies – a gripping account of one man’s determination to secure his ambition and pronounced destiny, the crown of Scotland, by whatever means necessary.
Designed for students across the world studying Shakespeare or English Literature, this session sees Globe practitioners and participants explore the dark world of ‘the Scottish play’, bringing it to life with active discussion and practical activities
Encouraging the development of an informed personal response to the play, underpinned by understanding the text’s relationship to the unique performance conditions of the Globe, this course is particularly suitable for GCSE and A-level Literature courses.
ONLINE EVENTS: HOW DO THEY WORK?
A ticket covers one household joining via one device. These online events are designed for young people aged 15+ and will be attended by up to 15 households on the same video meeting. Please ensure you join the meeting five minutes in advance of the event start time.
A link with joining instructions will be emailed to you a day before the event. You will need access to a reliable internet connection and be able to join a Zoom meeting.
Participants are invited to tell us about any access requirements during the booking process; this will enable us to be aware of needs in order to make reasonable adjustments and/or adapt content where possible.
These online events are interactive and fun for all, which means that there are opportunities for the Globe practitioner and the participants to engage directly with each other live.
To make sure that everyone is also safe, young people generally choose to attend the online session alone or in sibling groups, but it is a requirement that an adult must be present and available in the household at all times. Please be aware that no recording or photography will be permitted.
