Winter Season 2016–17

As the seasons change, we invite you to join us inside the beautifully intimate Sam Wanamaker Playhouse for the culmination of the Globe’s year of Wonder.

Lucy Bailey directs a warped and wonderful adaptation of Milton’s poem Comus, and Artistic Director Emma Rice adapts Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Match Girl and Other Happier Tales. A revival of Nick Drake’s majestic All the Angels, the unlikely true tale of the creation of Handel’s Messiah directed by Jonathan Munby, will be a true festive treat.

In the new year, Annie Ryan directs John Webster’s classic revenge tale The White Devil, while Ellen McDougall rounds off the season with Shakespeare’s intense, dramatic and timeless Othello.
