Is there any parking?

Parking is very limited around the Globe itself. There is an NCP car park on Thames Exchange on the north side of Southwark Bridge (open 24 hours, seven days a week).

Is there a cloakroom?

A cloakroom is available for patrons attending performances in either the Globe Theatre or the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse with a charge of £2.00 per item. Patrons attending performances at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse are strongly encouraged to leave all coats and bags* in the cloakroom for your comfort and convenience.

*See below for new bag restrictions policy.

The cloakroom opens 30 minutes before the start of a performance and closes 15 minutes following the end of a performance.

As of February 2019, we are limiting the size of bags that can be brought on to the site. The maximum bag size will be 40cm x 35cm x 19cm. We will not be able to admit oversized bags.

We will continue to offer patrons attending performances a cloakroom facility at a charge for coats and small bags only. Visitors are responsible for any items brought to the venue or left in the cloakroom. All bags will be subject to search and we recommend that you allow extra time for security checks at our entrances on arrival. If you need details of nearby bag-drop facilities, please refer to Stasher, BagBnB or Luggage Hero.

Bags containing necessary medical equipment, or buggies and equipment for use in childcare, will be permitted, subject to the owners agreeing that these items may need to be inspected.

Is the theatre air conditioned or heated?

The Globe Theatre is open-air. The temperature is dependent upon the weather. Please dress accordingly.

The Sam Wanamaker Playhouse is an indoor venue with air conditioning.

What happens when it rains?

Those in seats will be under the protection of a sound roof. Those standing in the yard are at the mercy of the elements. The show will continue regardless. No umbrellas are allowed to be put up in the yard at any time.
