One of the most revered theatres in Georgia, itself one of the world's great theatre cultures, the Marjanishvili, founded in 1928, appears regularly at theatre festivals all over the world. This new production of As You Like It is helmed by the company's Artistic Director Levan Tsuladze, known for his energetic, high-tempo and wildly imaginative productions of European classics.

Rosalind, the daughter of a banished duke, falls in love with Orlando the disinherited son of one of the duke’s friends. When she is banished from the court by her usurping uncle, Duke Frederick , Rosalind takes on the appearance of a boy called Ganymede, and travels with her cousin Celia her fool Touchstone to the Forest of Arden, where her father and his friends live in exile. When Orlando is also forced into the forest by his murderous brother, Rosalind’s disguise leads to a series of mistaken identities and mishaps, as new friendships are made and families – and lovers – united.
