Shakespeare's Globe

Storm [2005]

Written by: Peter Oswald
Directed by: Tim Carroll

The Storm is a raucous Roman burlesque ideally suited to this amphitheatre.

Descending from the heavens to the mortal world the god of the weather raises a mighty storm. For Labrax, a ‘producer’ of women, the storm brings shipwreck and ruin. For his female captives it offers a chance of escape.

Washed up on a rocky coastline, the two women initially seek refuge in the shrine of Venus but end up relying on the help of the elderly Daemones himself struggling to control his reluctant slave.
