Theatre Wallay presents a new production of The Taming of the Shrew, starring the Lahore stage and screen star Nadil Jamel as Katherine. Navid Shahzad's production, rich in colour and energy, explores the difficulties encountered by modern Pakistani women. With live singers and musicians, a thrilling bhangra jig rounds off this uplifting version of the first rom-com.


While the beautiful Bina has no shortage of suitors, her father decrees she cannot marry before her sister, the tempestuous Qurat-el-Ain. Bina’s admirers pay a witty fortune-seeker, Rustam, to court Qurat-el-Ain. He woos, marries and sets out to tame her through any means possible, while Bina’s suitors fall over each other in their attempts to win her love.
