Shakespeare’s Globe Book Award 2023

The Shakespeare’s Globe Book Award returns! The £3,000 prize is given biennially to a scholar whose first book has made an outstanding contribution to our understanding and appreciation of the world of Shakespeare and his contemporaries. Books published in 2020, 2021 and 2022 will be considered for the 2023 award, and further information can be found via the submission button below. 

The Award supports Shakespeare’s Globe’s mission to promote the work of new and emerging scholars. The winner is invited to give a public lecture in the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse and receives £3,000. Previous winners include Emma Whipday and Oliver Morgan, Simon Smith, Gillian Woods and David Goldstein, Gwilym Jones and Abigail Rokison-Woodall.
