Miguel Gorodi

Miguel Gorodi is a London based trumpet player, composer and teacher working across a broad spectrum of Jazz and improvised music. He leads several ensembles playing music that reflects his interests in contemporary and traditional ideas in Jazz.

Gorodi released his debut album Apophenia on the Ubuntu label in 2019, featuring his original compositions for Nonet.  His versatility has seen him work across many styles of music with musicians and projects such as Jamie Callum, Ian Shaw, BBC Big Band, Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra, Ivo Neame’s Dodeka, Tom Challenger’s Brass Mask, Emma Rawicz Jazz Orchestra, Nikki Iles Jazz Orchestra, SEED Ensemble, Yazz Ahmed, Femi Temowo, The London Jazz Orchestra, Smitty’s House Band and many others.

Born in Spain in 1990, Gorodi also grew up in Saudi Arabia and Thailand before moving to England in 2006. He moved to London in 2008 to study Jazz Trumpet at The Guildhall School of Music & Drama where he is now part of the Jazz faculty teaching classes and 1-1s.
