Miriam Adefris (she/her) is an Austrian-Ethiopian harpist based in London. Her artistic practice is driven by an eclectic approach to music: She plays original music with her 4-piece band or solo with electronics, has created commissioned sound installations and works as a session musician.

In 2022, Miriam gained attention beyond UK boarders due to her creative collaborations with electronic musician Floating Points, her contribution to producer Alex Kassian’s latest release Strings of Eden alongside LA-multiinstumentalist Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, as well as performances with her own project, performing at festivals across Europe including the EFG London Jazz Festival, Transmissions Ravenna (IT), Xjazz! Festival Berlin (GER), Wellenklaenge Festival (AT) and Popfest Vienna (AT).

Currently, her main interest is to find new, unheard sounds of the harp in a jazz- and/or more experimental setting as well as exploring improvisation and live electronics. She is working on her first solo record to be released in late 2023.
