Stella Duffy OBE

Stella Duffy has worked in theatre for over thirty-five years as an actor, improviser, deviser, director and writer, and is an associate artist with Improbable Theatre with whom she performed in Lifegame in over 250 shows since 1998, including at the National, off-Broadway and UK tour.

For the Globe: she was in the stage version of Christmas at the (Snow) Globe in 2019, and wrote and performed for Notes to the Forgotten She-Wolves.

She is also an award-winning writer with over seventy short stories, fourteen plays written and devised, and seventeen novels published in fifteen languages. Stella is the co-founder of the Fun Palaces campaign supporting community co-creation of cultural events UK-wide. She was awarded the OBE for Services to the Arts in 2016. Her latest novel Lullaby Beach will be published by Virago in February 2021.
