Our Climate Statement of Intent
- We accept that there is a global climate crisis.
- We commit to individual and organisational action to ensure that we play our part in mitigating the damaging effects of climate change, ensuring a safer and greener future.
- We recognise that the impact of climate change on our physical and mental health is real and that the implications in the short and the long term on the wellbeing of both are significant.
- We know that this is a time for action to reduce the energy consumption of our work and ensure that we live within our ecologic as well as economic means.
- We will continue, as custodians of some of the greatest stories ever told, to use the power of our global platform to create communities of conversation and tell stories that not only engage people with the world we live in today but the world that we want for the future.
- So, we will build on the first Climate Action Plan 22-25, with a new plan that will commit to more ambitious pledges for action in order to reach our Net Zero targets by 2030.

Off-Grid Performance
Join us on 28 June for this special performance during London Climate Action Week, as the Globe Theatre goes off-grid. We’re switching off and returning to our Shakespearean roots, exploring how we can move toward a low-energy production.
Climate Playwriting Prize
The Climate Playwriting Prize 2026 will uncover the most exciting new plays about the climate crisis, and support them to find their audiences.
This is an open invitation to playwrights to respond creatively to this subject matter. We are partnering with organisations all around the country to deliver workshops to writers, unlocking how they might want to tell their climate story.
