The time is now. (OK, well, in just under a month…) After its sensational premiere in the Globe Theatre in 2018, its Oliver-Award winning transfer to the West End in 2019, and its worldwide online stream in 2020, we couldn’t be more thrilled Morgan Lloyd Malcolm’s deliciously funny Emilia returns to your screens once more.

The archive recording of Emilia’s run in the West End will be available to stream online from 1 – 31 March 2021, in partnership with WOW Festival and to celebrate International Women’s Day on 8 March 2021.

You asked, we listened. After Emilia’s incredible worldwide online premiere last November 2020 in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, which saw the show watched by fans in over 81 countries, we knew this was one hot stream that needed to return, to renew that fire in the hearts of the Emilia Familia.

Last November we were so grateful for your support – the online premiere saw over 11,000 people purchase a ticket, 21,000 views across the world, and the watch-party on 10 November trend at number three on Twitter in the UK.

Once again we want as many people as possible to be able to stream Emilia – tickets will be priced as ‘pay what you can’, starting from just £1, and our captioned and audio described recordings will also be available to ensure Emilia is accessible as possible. Proceeds from the stream will once more shared amongst the brilliant, hard-working team of people who made the show, including actors, designers, backstage crew and an all-female creative team whose jobs disappeared as theatres across the country closed indefinitely last March 2020.

This time, we’re delighted to welcome WOW Festival to the party, as they’ll be hosting Our Time Is Now, a workshop with Emilia Playwright Morgan Lloyd Malcolm and Director Nicole Charles on 6 March 2021, 4.00pm (GMT). Join them as they discuss why they fell in love with Emilia, the importance of storytelling and why we should stand up and demand to be counted. .

WOW – Women of the World Festival is a global movement launched by Jude Kelly CBE at Southbank Centre London in 2010, which celebrates women and girls the world over, and examines the obstacles that stop them from achieving their potential. This March sees a three-week festival take place online from 1 – 21 March, and will explore everything from mental health to sex in lockdown, radical childcare to #SayHerName.
