Learn new skills to build an anti-racist approach to teaching Shakespeare in the classroom in this practical Continuing Professional Development workshop, designed for secondary English and Drama teachers. This is an in-person event hosted on-site at Shakespeare’s Globe.

Over three hours, you’ll examine a selection of extracts through the lens of anti-racism and look at how we can identify parallel occurrences in contemporary society. Led by a highly experienced Education Practitioner, this session will give you the opportunity to discuss techniques with other teachers and equip you with a practical toolkit for working with your students.

Your experience includes:

  • A tour of the Globe Theatre
  • A two-and-a-half-hour workshop with an expert practitioner
  • A teacher resource pack to help you embed your learning in the classroom

Shakespeare’s Globe is committed to understanding historic bias and racism within our organisation and bringing about lasting change. As part of this conversation, our programme includes regular CPDs for teachers and our series of  Anti-Racist Shakespeare webinars.
