Join our Family Globe Theatre Guided Tour, ideal for those with children aged 7-11 years old. Our tour introduces younger visitors to Shakespeare’s London and to the theatrical world he created.
Who went to the theatre in Shakespeare’s England? What was a penny groundling? What was the smell like at the Globe? Step into the Globe Theatre here at Shakespeare’s Globe and learn about Elizabethan theatre and stage practices.
From blood and gore to poetry and prose, this Family Globe Theatre Guided Tour will delight and disgust.
Every tour is led by one of our expert tour guides, in English, and is suitable for all ages. Information sheets are available in a number of languages.
We are an open-air theatre and tours go ahead in all conditions so dress for the weather!

The tour includes steps and is conducted on foot – let us know during the booking process if anyone in your party has any physical access requirements. If you have any other access requirements (such as needing a Touch Tour or a BSL interpreter), please email us so we can discuss what we can put in place.
During your visit, it’s possible that the Globe Tour will visit multiple floors within the theatre. These levels are accessed by four or eight flights of stairs, using our external stairway tower.
FACILITIES FOR FAMILIES
The full tour route around the Globe Theatre does include steps, but you are still welcome to bring a pram into the ground level of the auditorium. Baby changing facilities will be open and available as normal.
