TEACHER TRAINING
Inspiring Continuing Professional Development for English and Drama teachers
Are you looking for new tools and techniques to bring Shakespeare to life in your classroom?
Explore our range of teacher training, from standalone CPD workshops to longer courses or bespoke sessions.

Teacher training from Shakespeare’s Globe is underpinned by our unique expertise in practical approaches to unlocking Shakespeare’s texts. It is inspired by our world-famous theatres that reconstruct the playing conditions of Shakespeare’s time; and informed by our legacy of research into Shakespeare and his contemporaries.
Sessions are led by Globe Education Practitioners, who are specialists in teaching Shakespeare through drama. They are actors, directors, and workshop leaders, with specific experience of engaging young people in Shakespeare.
Join a scheduled CPD session
These 2–3 hour interactive sessions focus on a key curriculum text, or take a thematic approach by examining multiple plays through the lens of social justice. At Shakespeare’s Globe or online.
Shape your own On-Request CPD
We deliver bespoke, On-Request CPD sessions for departments, Multi-Academy Trusts, Initial Teacher Training programmes, and subject membership bodies, for INSET days and more. We work in the UK and internationally, and sessions can take place in your school, at Shakespeare’s Globe or online.
Our On-Request CPDs are completely tailored to your requirements. They can be single or multi-day courses which upskill teachers on:
- Techniques for teaching Shakespeare’s work, including focus on specific characters, plays or themes across more than one play.
- Techniques for teaching through drama, which can be used beyond Shakespeare’s work.
- Applying a framework of social justice to the study of Shakespeare’s plays – for example, exploring them through the lens of anti-racism, gender or sexuality.
