Having co-edited the text for the Arden Performance Edition of King Lear together, this event promises a revelatory discussion with Sir Simon and Dr Abigail about shaping Shakespeare’s words for the 21st century stage.  
 
The greatest actor of his generation (The Independent), Sir Simon Russell Beale CBE has received two BAFTA awards, three Olivier awards and a Tony Award, and has a longstanding relationship with Shakespeare. Dr Abigail Rokison-Woodall is Deputy Director (Education) of the Shakespeare Institute. She won the first Shakespeare’s Globe Book Award, and her works include Shakespeare for Young People and Shakespeare and Lecoq: A Practical Guide. Dr Will Tosh is Head of Research at Shakespeare’s Globe. His new book, Straight Acting: The Many Queer Lives of William Shakespeare, is published in June.
