Summer Schools 2021

Courses for young actors and academics (aged 8-19 years)
taking place online and on-site in August 2021

Perfect for aspiring actors and academics, our Summer Schools in 2021 offer young people an unparalleled opportunity to develop their skills with Globe professionals.

After a year like no other this is a chance to get back into live performance and discovering Shakespeare with a group of peers here on-site, in the unique surroundings of Shakespeare’s Globe itself.

For those who can’t make it to London this summer, there are also courses designed to participate in online, at home via Zoom.

All courses, at the Globe and online, culminate in a sharing of the work from the week. Family members and carers are invited to join this.

Use the page below to find out more about:

Five-day summer schools perfect for anyone with a passion for theatre. Working with our highly experienced Globe practitioners and actors you will have the opportunity to explore your own acting style and develop your skills.

You will take part in voice, text and movement sessions that allow you to explore working collaboratively with your peers to form a company.

Each session will involve warm-up games, tips and tricks for getting into character, tackling Shakespeare’s language, making choices in acting and having fun with performance. There will be plenty of opportunities to perform and play scenes, trying out different styles and approaches.

Work with one of our Globe Practitioners in this online, interactive course designed especially for aspiring actors. Receive hands-on instruction from Globe actors to explore Shakespeare in an exciting way through lively workshops and practical activities.

Designed for young performers, this course provides an active, creative learning experience where children will have the ability to interact with young people from around the world, at home, to bring Shakespeare to life in a new way.

This course is aimed at children aged either 8 to 10 years or 11 to 13 years who have an interest in performing. It culminates in an online sharing (via Zoom) of performance areas studied across the week.

The course is delivered in English, and therefore all participants must be able to take instruction in English.
