Our iconic Globe Theatre is a faithful reconstruction of the open-air playhouse in which Shakespeare worked, and for which he wrote many of his most famous plays!

Our expert guide-storytellers will provide your group with a fascinating tour of the Globe Theatre auditorium, vividly recreating colourful stories of the 1599 Playhouse, the London Shakespeare would have known and the Globe reconstruction process in the 1990s.

Our guides will also bring the theatre to life, exploring how the ‘wooden O’ works today as an imaginative and experimental space for performance.

Running time 50 minutes

Every 11th person goes free when you book 10 tickets. Our maximum group size per tour guide is 45 – if you would like to split into smaller groups, we can offer an additional guide for £65.00 to facilitate a more personal experience. A £2.50 booking fee is applied to all group bookings. Please read the full terms and conditions.

During your visit, it’s possible that the Globe Tour will visit multiple floors within the theatre. These levels are accessed by four or eight flights of stairs, using our external stairway tower.

We are able to offer limited level access to seats in the Middle and Upper galleries. For more information, please contact email or call us on 0207 4019919.


Tours can also be combined with a matinee or evening performance in either our Globe Theatre or Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, giving your group the opportunity to see the theatre or playhouse in action during a performance.

When you enquire via our booking form, please state which production and performance date and time you are interested in, for example, ‘Twelfth Night, Monday 2 August, 7.00pm’.

Please note that there may be a limited number of tickets in each price band so larger groups may need to purchase a variety of different ticket prices – you will be advised about this when making your booking.
