Our iconic Globe Theatre is a faithful reconstruction of the open-air playhouse in which Shakespeare worked, and for which he wrote many of his most famous plays!

Our expert guide-storytellers will provide your group with a fascinating tour of the Globe Theatre auditorium, vividly recreating colourful stories of the 1599 Playhouse, the London Shakespeare would have known and the Globe reconstruction process in the 1990s.

Our guides will also bring the theatre to life, exploring how the wooden ‘O’ works today as an imaginative and experimental space for performance.

You’ll also have the opportunity to explore our brand-new, walk-through exhibition space. Immerse your group in the sights, sounds, and secrets of Shakespeare’s London, travelling through over 400 years of fascinating history. You’ll be able to relive some of our most iconic shows with seasonally curated displays, and even have the chance to get ready for the stage yourself with interactive costumes and props.

During your visit, it’s possible that the Globe Tour will visit multiple floors within the theatre. These levels are accessed by four or eight flights of stairs, using our external stairway tower.

Tours can also be combined with a matinee or evening performance in either our Globe Theatre or Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, giving your group the opportunity to see the theatre or playhouse in action during a performance.

Browse our ‘What’s on’ and click ‘By date’ to see shows happening on the same day as your tour.

When you enquire via our booking form, please state which production and performance date and time you are interested in, for example, ‘Twelfth Night, Monday 2 August, 7.00pm’.
