Join us in the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse for an afternoon of eye-opening discussion exploring how the arts contribute to health and wellbeing.

Following the publication of her book Art Cure: The Science of How the Arts Transform Our Health, Professor Daisy Fancourt joins Globe Artistic Director Michelle Terry for this discussion and Q&A.

Daisy’s research has revealed that the arts have life-changing power to unlock health and happiness – from assisting brain development, to reducing depression, stress and pain, to re-mapping neural pathways, to resilience against dementia.

Together, Daisy and Michelle will discuss the role of artists and arts organisations in society, how we can articulate the arts’ contribution to health and wellbeing, and why it’s important that we do, now more so than ever.

This event is part of The Globe Talks, a series of essential conversations exploring the work we do in relation to the world we live in.
