Globe Talks: From Spark to Solution
The Globe Talks:
From Spark to Solution
Join us in the intimate, candlelit setting of the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse for The Globe Talks: From Spark to Solution.
In this special panel discussion and Q&A for London Climate Action Week, hear from an exciting range of founders and leaders of UK grassroots sustainability charities and ask them your questions, as we delve into the transformative power of community-led action.
Every movement begins with a single wake-up call. For this event, we are bringing together an inspiring panel of community pioneers – everyday students, parents, professionals who have put their own lives on hold to bolster the resilience, inclusivity, and sustainability of their local areas.
On the night you’ll experience six short, powerful 10-minute talks, where our speakers will share the spark that started their journeys, what they have developed, and their plans and hopes for the future.
We’ll explore how grassroots environmental projects do far more than cut carbon; they are quietly tackling the interconnected crises of our time. From easing the cost of living and combating loneliness, to supporting young people who are not in education or employment, boosting local economies, and relieving pressure on the NHS – these local heroes, and the many like them, are bringing communities together and building vital infrastructure from the ground up.
Following the talks, Chair Matt Goulding, a key storyteller for the sector, will lead an open and engaging Q&A, giving you the chance to discover how ordinary people are coming up with extraordinary solutions across the country.
This event is part of The Globe Talks, a series of essential conversations exploring the work we do in relation to the world we live in.
