Explore Shakespeare’s witty comedy Much Ado About Nothing in this practical and interactive workshop, designed for young people aged 14+. Ideal for those with an interest in theatre or literature, this workshop uses a range of activities and games designed to draw out elements of the language, characters and themes of one of Shakespeare’s much-loved comedies through practical drama activities.

Encouraging the development of a personal response to the play, informed by understanding the play’s relationship to the unique performance conditions of our theatre spaces, this session provides the perfect head start or accompaniment to GCSE English Literature studies. No previous experience is required, just a desire to jump in and enjoy exploring. After the war, Hero and Claudio are in love and agree to marry.

Meanwhile, Beatrice and Benedick try to outdo each other in a battle of wits, both declaring they will never marry. A malicious plot unfolds to separate the happy couple, whilst Beatrice and Benedick’s friends trick them into falling for one another… Can they untangle the truth in time?

Workshops will be led by one of the Globe’s highly experienced educational practitioners who include actors, teachers and directors. Drop off/pick up will be in the main foyer of Shakespeare’s Globe, and parents and guardians can enjoy our food and drinks offer during the workshop.
