Continuing Professional Development:
Teaching Shakespeare and Women

At Home
Price: £45.00 Book Now

Develop your approach to facilitating classroom conversations about sexism, misogyny, and depictions of women in Shakespeare in this practical and interactive Continuing Professional Development workshop.

This is an online event hosted on Zoom.

Marking International Women’s Day, this session focuses on four women in Shakespeare’s plays – Juliet, Lady Macbeth, Beatrice and Hero. You will draw together critical writing with practice from the Globe’s rehearsal rooms to re-evaluate these characters for our times.

Led by an experienced Globe Practitioner, this session is designed for Secondary English and Drama teachers. You will explore how these techniques can be adapted for the classroom to encourage students to examine their own reactions to Shakespeare’s portrayal of women.
