The Tempest Guided Tour

This event has now passed.
Visit our What's On to see our current and upcoming events.

Take our unique Guided Tour of The Tempest in the Globe Theatre this summer and discover more about the history of Shakespeare’s enchanting comedy.

From within the confines of our wooden ‘O’, you’ll be introduced to the plot and characters of the play by our expert guides before delving into its origins.

Explore the magic and folklore behind the history of the play, and the background to its narrative on colonialism.

Identify the play’s key themes, from illusion vs reality to forgiveness and reconciliation.

You might even catch a glimpse of the company preparing for the next performance of the Globe’s Associate Artistic Director, Sean Holmes and the Globe Ensemble’s production of The Tempest.

You don’t need to have booked to see the show to take the tour, but it would complement attending a performance perfectly. The tour is timed so you can comfortably enjoy it before the performance.
