A Night In Sign

Sam Wanamaker Playhouse

Join us in the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse this October for A Night in Sign – a BSL-led cabaret event of music, dance, comedy, poetry, spoken word and more.

Following sold events at Bristol Old Vic and Storyhouse, Chester, this evening will bring together some of the UK’s leading and emerging Deaf and Hard of Hearing talent under candlelight for the first time.

Please note this event uses English creative captions for some sections of the performance but is not fully captioned.

A Night in Sign is produced and run by Chris Fonseca, Nadeem Islam and Harry Jardine. Chris and Harry met during a 6 month tour in 2019. During this time, Chris taught Harry British Sign Language and introduced him to the beauty of the language and culture. By the end of the tour, Harry, Nadeem, and Chris aspired to create an event that bridged the gap between the hearing and deaf communities. They wanted to create an event that celebrated and embraced the beauty of deaf culture to celebrate and where everyone is welcome. And thus, A Night in Sign was born!
