Young Actors’ Short Course (Ages 8-10) 2020

This event has now passed.

Spend three half-days working with one of our Globe Practitioners in this online, interactive course designed especially for aspiring actors.

Receive hands-on instruction from Globe actors to explore Shakespeare in an exciting way through lively workshops and practical activities. Designed for young performers, this course provides an active, creative learning experience where children will have the ability to interact with young people from around the world, at home, to bring Shakespeare to life in a new way.

This course is aimed at children aged 8-10 years who have an interest in performing. It culminates in an online sharing (via Zoom) of performance areas studied across the week.

The course is delivered in English, and therefore all participants must be able to take instruction in English.

An adult must be available within the household for the full running time of each session. Parents/guardians are welcome to remain in the room for each session, but there is no requirement for them to be involved in any activities. It is recommended that parents/guardians should start each video session for this course, and help keep track of time.

A ticket covers one participant joining via one device. These online events are designed for children aged 8-10 years and will be attended by up to 16 participants on the same video meeting. Please ensure you join the meetings each day five minutes in advance of the start time.

A link with joining instructions will be emailed to you a day before the course start date. You will need access to a reliable internet connection and be able to join a Zoom meeting.

Participants are invited to tell us about any access requirements during the booking process; this will enable us to be aware of needs in order to make reasonable adjustments and/or adapt content where possible.

These online events are interactive and fun for all, which means that there are opportunities for the Globe practitioner and the participants to engage directly with each other live.

To make sure that everyone is also safe, although young people generally choose to attend the online session alone, it is a requirement that an adult must be present and available in the household at all times. Please be aware that no recording or photography will be permitted.

Our staff retain the right to terminate any participant’s connection to the Zoom meeting if our Ticket terms and Community guidelines are not followed.
