THE GLOBE THEATRE
Open air
The Globe Theatre is an open-air (roofless), wooden theatre. Tours and events go ahead in all conditions, so dress for the weather. If you are coming to see a performance at the Globe Theatre, you can purchase or hire various items to make your visit more comfortable, from multiple places on site.
Enhance your visit
Cushions, blankets and seat backs are available to hire. Programmes, fans, rain ponchos and caps are available to buy. We also sell ice creams, drinks and snacks before the performance starts, during the interval and after the performance (matinees only). When booking tickets, you can purchase some of these items in advance.
Cloakroom
Our cloakroom currently operates whenever possible, with a £2.50 charge per item. We do not store luggage. Please note that glass items are prohibited and all items are left at the owner’s risk. For more information on prohibited items, read our security information.
Facilities
There are several places on-site to refill water bottles. We also have men’s, ladies and gender-neutral toilets, and baby changing facilities available. There is a quiet space in the upper foyer of our main site, should you wish to use it (you might need to ask a member of staff if this area is closed off).
Photography and Video
Please note that photography and video recording is not permitted during performances and other events. Video recording is not permitted on a guided tour of the Globe Theatre, and photography may be restricted at certain times.
THE SAM WANAMAKER PLAYHOUSE
Indoor
The Sam Wanamaker Playhouse is an indoor, candlelit wooden theatre. The seats in the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse are cushioned benches.
