Award-winning counter-tenor Andreas Scholl, will bring to life a selection of sixteenth and early seventeenth century lute songs by John Dowland, the Orpheus of his age, and Thomas Campion, a prolific poet and composer of the time. Sonnets and extracts from plays written by Shakespeare will be woven into the concert along with musical interludes on lute and harp to evoke the sounds of the court of James I.
