Are children welcome to attend performances at the Globe?

Children and families are welcome to any of the performances at the Globe however any child or group disturbing a show in any way will be asked to leave.  

A ticket is required for anyone aged 3 and over. Certain Globe Theatre performances are not suitable for babies and children under 3 years.  Children under the age of 6 cannot be admitted into the auditorium of the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse.

The theatre tour and the associated exhibition are the ideal places in which to introduce children to Shakespeare. 

Do you offer concession tickets?

Concession tickets are available for under 18’s (with valid ID); they receive a £3 discount on all seated tickets.

Families & Kids

Shakespeare’s Globe offers exciting and educational activities for families and children all year round. At the 2013 Family Arts Festival awards, we were awarded Best Family Event - for Muse of Fire - and Best Family Welcome in the South. 

The Globe Exhibition & Tour offers an opportunity for families and kids to learn more about Shakespeare and the theatre for which he wrote. Live demonstrations take place throughout the day exploring stage-fighting and Elizabethan clothing.

Globe Education, the largest theatre education department in the country, holds regular events created especially for young people. Come and join us as we bring Shakespeare's stories to life for the whole family.

Our Globe Shop features a wonderful range of souvenirs, from play-themed stationery to books and clothing, so you can take your visit to Shakespeare's Globe home with you.
